Research

Ever since I decided on a fine of one (1) skid-load of Temptations treats for the assault on Garden Tober, I have been wondering how many treats are in a skid-load. I suspect that a skid-load will provide plenty for me to send to (you) my blogging friends and readers! So I have tried to Investigate.

My first Investigation led to a dead end. I have out-Googled Google. Look what happens when I ask Google how many are in a skid-load:

You might need to biggify, but you will see that I am the first Cat in the history of the Internets to ask Google how many are in a skid-load.

Now, since Google didn't seem to know anything, I went directly to the Temptations website, where I had AAB Christine fill out the little online form demanding to know how many Temptations come in a skid-load.

Well, a few days ago they replied:

Dear Christine:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Mars Petcare US.

We would like the opportunity to speak with you over the phone so please give us a call at 1-800-525-5273, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Central Standard time.

AAB Christine says she absolutely refuses to call the Mars Petcare people and ask them a stupid question about Temptations.

I think she needs to be Fired.

That got her all scared about losing her job, so she clicked on a linky at the bottom of the email from K. Kelly and asked how many Temptations bags come in a case, and how many cases get shipped together. Then we can Estimate (that means "guess" in Librarian) how many Temptations are in a skid-load.

All of this work is exhausting.

I hope the rest of the week is more peaceful.

Purrs,

Tober

Wow, AAB Christine almost committed insubordination by refusing to call the Temptations humans!

Well, I did something your assistants did not think of - I searched for "what is a skid-load" and left off the Temptations. One site was fairly enlightening. It said, "1 Skid Load of Joy wax is 42 cases of Joy wax. Each case is 54-60 lbs. per case." So you should gauge the amount of Temptations accordingly.

Hi Tober. U deserve your well earned rest after all that hard work researching! Hopefully there are at least 50 temptations in a skid load! Happy resting :)

We cannot believe that customer service peoples provide no customer service but that is a sign of the times, we guess. We'll be waiting fur the answer 'cause we are inquiring minds!

Hi Tober! We have missed you while we were away from blog visiting! We think that a skid load is going to vary depending on the size of the skid - mom told us (cause she works in a warehouse so we asked) that there are different sized pallets so that would mead different sized loads. Mom said that at least at her place the skids are able to hold about 3,000 lbs but some can hold less and some can hold more. So all you need to do is figure out how much a case weighs and then you can figure out how many on a skid - she recommends the 3000 lb size for your guess because that seems to be the middle range of weight.

We think you should keep AAB Christine around, because our mom wouldn't have even tried to email about it - so your AAB is doing a good job in our eyes!

We are very impressed that you want to know how many Temptations can fit on a skid-load. We only know that it is a lot, and would let us know many when you find out as we want to put this on our Christmas list.
